The Shetland XL clay inter-locking tile is a smooth variation of the Snowdon XL. With only 5.4 tiles per sqm it gives amazing coverage and is suitable for large open roof areas. Tested down to 15 degrees the Shetland XL is a great low pitch roofing solution.
It has the same smooth surface, rectangular format and crisp edges as the Shetland which give a beautiful aesthetic on the roof. Like the Shetland it comes with a 60 year guarantee and because it is baked its colour will be permanent and unfading.
The XL will be extremely quick to fit and simple to install. Whilst there will be no sorting or grading required (in contrast to traditional slating which requires substantial sorting and grading) we do recommend you select tiles from a minimum of 3 pallets when fitting.
Recent research has shown a key area for demand for clay tiles in the refurbishment market. Our digital printing service can be used to replicate an original façade or roof covering onto clay tiles. The aged finishes can blend in with existing facades and local roofscapes. We have digitally re-created 2 NEW colours using actual reclaimed slate (see Gallery below).
