Plain Tiles
The term 'plain tile' refers to the traditional tile size of 265x165mm, with a coverage of approximately 60 tiles per square metre. These type of tiles have a long tradition in this part of the world and were standardized as far back as 1477 when a statue was passed which stated a plain tile should be 10 ½ x 6 ½ x ½ (which translates into metric as 265mm x 165mm).
