Slate

Slate started out life as a sedimentary mudstone and when the tectonic plates of the earth moved to form the mountains and continents we know today, this sedimentary rock metamorphosed under intense heat and pressure, to form what we know as slate.

Slate is an extremely hard and dense material and the hardest wearing stone in our range. Welsh Slate is generally accepted as the best quality slate in the world and flooring / paving slate from these quarries has been specified on some prestigious projects around the world.
