Cwt-Y-Bugail
Our quarry at Cwt-Y-Bugail produces a beautiful dark blue grey slate with an attractive 'riven' texture.
Located to the east of our quarry at Blaenau Ffestiniog the Cwt-Y-Bugail Quarry is the highest industrial site in the UK.
The quarry was originally opened in the 1840s and, although it still produces roofing slate today, most the production is used for flooring, cladding and landscaping applications.
Some of our most recent projects with Cwt-Y-Bugail Slate includes:
- Welsh Assembly Government building, Cardiff (Flooring, Walling and Paving)
- Wales Millenium Centre, Cardiff (Cladding)
- Baltic Flour Mill, Gateshead (Paving)
- National Waterfront Museum, Swansea (Cladding)
- Caernarfon Town Centre (Paving)
We also produce a range of worktops in Cwt-Y-Bugail Slate.
