Crumlin Road Gaol, Belfast

Built as a replacement for the County Gaol in Carrickfergus in the 1840s, and designed by Charles Lanyon, a prolific architect of the time, Crumlin Road Prison is now an NIEA Grade 1 listed building. The building underwent a substantial refurbishment reopening in late 2012. The building won a prestigious RICS NI award in 2014 and attracts upwards of 100,000 visitors a year. In 2010/2011 LBS supplied 600mmx300mm, 600mmx350mm and 500mmx300mm Penrhyn County grade Welsh slates in diminishing courses to restore the roof to its original condition.
